 Nicholas Cup

Wall climbingThe Nicholas Cup was started as an act of gratitude, in memory of a seven year-old American boy, called Nicholas Green. Nicholas was shot in an attempted robbery in Italy in 1994 and his organs were donated to seven Italians.

Nicholas Cup is open to transplant children aged 4 to 17 from all over the world.

The Nicolas Cup will be held on the last day of the Winter Games competition. Prior to this event, supervised and instructor-led activities will be organised for children every day.

Activities will include:

  • skiing lessons
  • indoor sport activities
  • adventure activities (wall climbing, snow shoeing, etc.)
  • visits to local attractions

Nicholas CupActivitities are always supervised and instructed by trained staff. Instruction will be offered in Finnish, English and Swedish (varying by location and activity).

Rovaniemi 2008 organisers will offer free participation for 50 children around the world. Free participation includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, all childrens acticities and competition events.
