Eventhough most of the facilities and services are included into participation fees there might become a time for the need of special moments by yourself.

Herbal, aromatic and peat baths

We have a Hydroxeur water treatment tub at our spa department. The tub has 8 different massage zones, 250 air and water jets and a stereo system. The treatments are individually programmed for the whole body or specific areas of the body. Each treatment is a combination of aromatic oils, water temperatures, jets of air and water, music, lighting and interior décor.

Ergobath treatment room

Ergobath represents a new treatment technology that is designed to treat the body and the mind. The room has a Dolby Surround sound system and DVD image reproduction that can be combined with the bath. Ergobath combines lighting, steam, showers, conditioners, bubbles and tub movement to constitute a holistic bath experience.

Therapeutic massage and physiotherapy

Santasport Physiotherapy provides a wide range of research-based rehabilitation services. Activity is the keyword in physiotherapy, and the setting for such activity is easily available with versatile gym, group exercise and spa facilities all under one roof.

Instruction for further self-rehabilitation exercises can also be found from the same premises.

Athlete and Fitness testing

Santasport fitness tests are performed in the Fitness Clinic and Coaching Centre located in the sports hall. The Fitness Clinic is a service point intended for people interested in their own level of fitness that provides all the regular tests for measuring physical fitness. The Fitness Clinic also provides advice for matters relating to exercise and maintaining health.

The Coaching Centre, on the other hand, mainly caters to competition and professional sportspeople. The centre performs tests for a variety of sports measuring a number of physical characteristics. Activities also include a a wide range of laboratory services.

        Strength Test Packages

Speed: Vertical jump tests and throwing gate test.
Maximum (isometric forces): Body extension and flexion strength, leg extension strength and arm grip strength.
Endurance: Repetition test for main muscle groups.

        Anaerobic Test

Wingate - 30 sec. ergometer cycle test: Anaerobic performance and fatigue index
Anaerobic Jump Test

Con con -running test (light system): Analysing training heart rates and speeds
Submaximal treadmill test or field test: Aerobic and anaerobic threshold evaluated with blood lactate, speed and heart rate
Maximal VO2 treadmill test (sport specific): Antropometry, aerobic and anaaerobic threshold, VO2max and basic blood picture
UKK 2 km walking test: Analysing fitness index and training heart rates

        Balance and mobility

Sensory Organisation Test (SOT): Level of balance senses, location of centre of gravity ext.
Head Shake SOT / direction of movement: Closer analyse of inner ear balance organs
Mobility and muscle balance analyse
Foot profile (footscanner): Clinical analysing and measurement with footscanner. Possible to measure foot profile during walking and running.

Ounasvaara Ski Center offers a wide range of rental equipment for downhill skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing.

We recommend that you book your prefered equipment before hand to ensure availability.
